The City of St. Gallen’s business development initiative aims to maintain the city’s appeal in line with the City Vision 2030, while further strengthening and highlighting its attractiveness. These measures are designed to generate added value for both the city’s businesses and its residents. Both economic value creation and quality of life must be maintained and further enhanced. Accordingly, the work of the city’s economic development office goes beyond the traditional understanding of purely economic promotion. It views the city as a synergistic interplay between the business sector, civil society, and the administration or political sphere. In this sense, the economic development office addresses all matters concerning the city as a business location and fulfills various functions to this end:

• A municipal office serving clients from the business community and civil society
